HomeDirectoryAssisted LivingThe Village at the Triangle

A mid-rise community in the Triangle district of central Austin, between Guadalupe Street and North Lamar Boulevard north of the University of Texas campus. It offers independent living, assisted living, and memory care, and publishes Texas license number 307341 and facility ID 107288.

The Village at The Triangle is at 4517 Triangle Avenue in central Austin (78751), inside the Triangle shopping and dining district and within walking distance of restaurants, Central Market and Triangle Pond. Senior executive director Joel H. Quade has led the community since before it opened in September 2018 and heads a team the site puts at more than 150 people. Several directors were hired during pre-construction, including the plant operations director in 2018 and a sales director in 2017.

Three care levels are offered: independent living, assisted living and memory care. Assisted living and memory care operate together as The Parc, directed by Michelle Owens, a licensed vocational nurse who also serves as assistant executive director, with registered nurse Darnel Omelchuck as director of resident care; the memory care neighbourhood is called Parcside. The community publishes License No. 307341 and Facility ID 107288 in its footer. Apartments are described with floor-to-ceiling windows, quartz countertops and walk-in showers. Dining is run by an executive chef and a separate dining venues director.

This is an urban option rather than a campus one, suited to a family that wants a parent to stay inside the city and near medical centres. On-site features include a heated indoor pool, fitness centre, private yoga studio, outdoor terraces and walking trails around the community pond. Separate life enrichment directors are assigned to independent living, assisted living and Parcside memory care, and the community regularly organises outings to Austin Opera, Ballet Austin and local shopping. The number is 512-323-0933.

Austin in context

Austin proper has the widest range of care levels in the metro and the widest range of prices with it. Central and west-side communities price toward the top of the market; north and northeast Austin is generally more moderate. Traffic is the practical constraint families underestimate — a community fifteen minutes away at 10 a.m. can be forty at six in the evening, and evening is when most visits actually happen.
